C.I.B has been designed to meet the needs of learners across all year levels. While there is freedom to allow students to follow their own interests it does require teachers to teach specific skills in curriculum areas. Each C.I.B has a specific knowledge lens with which students will approach their learning, and rigorous well connected skills to practise.
Not only do we want our students to be literate and numerate, we also want them to become problem seekers, having the confidence to question, have a different viewpoint to others but also listen to other’s viewpoints, in order to be able to participate fully in our society. While the diagram below is circular in design students will need to revisit all stages at various times in the C.I.B.
